Sustainability and Psychology Research Group
The aim of the research group is to investigate the cognitive systems, emotions and behaviours related to sustainability in a multidisciplinary approach with a psychological focus. Our research aims to explore the drivers of human action that promote and hinder sustainability, to investigate the effectiveness of sustainability-related communication messages, social awareness-raising activities and pedagogical interventions, and to contribute to increasing their effectiveness through our research. The intersection of our research is psychologically embedded, but we also work closely with researchers and practitioners in education, marketing, communication and natural and human ecology. The research team aims to contribute to the scientific knowledge on sustainability through basic research and help organisations active in the field of sustainability awareness through applied research. Considering our fundamental basic research our aim is to achieve broad national and international scientific cooperation. Our applied research is carried out in partnership with public, civil society and business organisations.
